Ronald Ballantyne

Ron Ballantyne is Executive Director, Brock Community Health Centre. Formerly he was CEO, Whitby Mental Health Centre, a state-of-the-art, specialty mental health facility serving over 2.8 million residents of the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions to the north and east. Mr. Ballantyne has held senior executive positions with Community Resources Consultants of Toronto (now Community Connections of Toronto) and Queen Street Mental Health Centre (now the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health). He has co-founded several community mental health organizations and has served on the boards of over 15 organizations in health, education, planning and service coordination. His expertise focuses on mental health system development, service integration, governance, innovation, strategic leadership, supportive housing, forensic services and consumer/family development. Recently he was a member of the Ontario Hospital Association's Mental Health and Addiction Provincial Leadership Council and the Hospital Report Strategic Advisory Committee. He assumed key leadership roles on the Ontario Forensic Expert Panel and on the JPPC in developing the Resident Assessment Instrument for Mental Health (RAI-MH). Mr. Ballantyne is a former member of the editorial board of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Journal and has authored and co-authored several professional publications in the mental health field.
