Philip Merideth is Chief of Brentwood Behavioral Health Care of Mississippi, a center providing mental health services to adults, children and adolescents. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and the University of Mississippi School of Law. Dr. Merideth holds academic appointments as a clinical assistant professor in the Departments of Psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He is a member of the Ethics Committee of the American Psychiatric Association and is past Chair of the Ethics Committee of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. He has served on numerous ethics committees of hospitals, academic medical centers and medical organizations. He is also serving as the President of the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure.
Dr. Merideth has lectured nationally and internationally on ethics, law and mental health and he has published extensively on these and other topics. He is certified in adult psychiatry, child/adolescent psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and administrative psychiatry.
