PhD MBA
Barbara is the Bioethicist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto and associated with the University of Toronto's Joint Centre for Bioethics. Her PhD and MA in Philosophy (majoring in biomedical ethics) were earned at the University of Tennessee. Her current working and academic interests focus on mental health and addictions care, ethical challenges and opportunities in forensic healthcare settings, organizational ethics, and developing effective ways to help hone physicians and clinical staff ethics-related skills. Barbara also worked for many years in the Canadian oil industry (e.g., marketing, accounting, HR, labour/employee relations) and earned an MBA from the University of Calgary.
